INDICATIONS
Use local anesthesia in the following cases:
– Penetrating anesthesia: Inject around castration sites, incisions, abscesses, and shallow incisions.
– Surface anesthesia: Apply to mucosal surfaces in eye, ear, nose, throat, and genital surgeries.
– Local nerve or plexus block anesthesia in case of cesarean section.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
– Penetrating anesthesia: Inject (SC) into many locations around the surgery site. Minimum dose is 3 – 5 ml and maximum dose is 20 ml depending on the size of the anesthetic area.
– Surface anesthesia: Apply wet enough on the surface of the mucosa or wound.
– Local nerve anesthesia: Inject intramuscularly near the nerve or peripheral nerve plexus at the dose: Calves: 1 ml/10 kg b.w; Cattle: 5 – 10 ml; Pigs: 1 ml/10 kg weight; Dogs and cats: 1 ml/3.5 – 4.5 kg weight.
